Dear Hubby (DH) and I have decided to do some much needed home maintenance: painting the interior, putting in new rugs, and cleaning, painting, and staining the deck. In the process, we have also decided to do another "round" of decluttering. Since learning about decluttering almost ten years ago on OrganizedHome.com, I have done many rounds and become an avid fan of it, and I have found that it is an ongoing process. One because I keep bringing new things into the house, and two because every layer of decluttering I finish reveals new levels of distinctions in the remaining items between stuff I love, want and need, and stuff I don't.

This month I will be focusing on decluttering, organizing, and setting up systems so that I can either stimulate or sooth my senses. I hope you'll find one or two things that you can implement in your life to make it more pleasing. It's a gift that you can give yourself, friends and family.
Today I am thinking about Valentine's Day, and doing some things to prepare for it. Valentine's day reminds us that love is a sensual experience--one that heightens all of our senses. Pleasant sensations regulate our brains, lifts our mood, and reminds us of the simple joy of being incarnate. I invite you to put aside some time this week to pamper yourself. And it's a great way to set the mood for romance. |
