When I tell people I'm a professional organizer, they often ask me if my house is organized. Then I must confess: it's an ongoing battle, and the front lines are always moving. For the last couple of weeks, my office has been the site of several skirmishes. My opening salvo was a horizontal file cabinet, purchased at the Goodwill for $19.91. I have kept my eye out for one of those for a couple of years, so when I saw a nice one, I procured it for my arsenal. It enabled me to empty out four file crates that have been standing in for something more permanent. I'll post some pictures of the process on the "before and after" page. This month I will be focusing on decluttering, organizing, and setting up systems so that I can either stimulate or sooth my senses. I hope you'll find one or two things that you can implement in your life to make it more pleasing. It's a gift that you can give yourself, friends and family.
Today I am thinking about Valentine's Day, and doing some things to prepare for it. Valentine's day reminds us that love is a sensual experience--one that heightens all of our senses. Pleasant sensations regulate our brains, lifts our mood, and reminds us of the simple joy of being incarnate. I invite you to put aside some time this week to pamper yourself. And it's a great way to set the mood for romance. |
